Amsterdam

Fri 8th - Sun 10th August 2025

Skate with Asha in the Netherlands, the flattest country in Europe (where the only hills are bridges).

Amsterdam is one of Asha’s favourite global skate cities as it’s designed for cyclists and therefore perfect for skaters.

We’ll join the famous Friday Night Skate (one of the longest running in the world), then an out of town countryside tour along the Amstel River and a City Tour taking in various parks, neighbourhoods and even a skate-on ferry.

Lesson time with Asha working on your skate technique, stopping methods, tram lines & other skills happen throughout the weekend.

Meeting point for all 3 days: Vondelpark https://maps.app.goo.gl/5BSigqGyeHHxAyUJA

Sunday 10 August

Meet 0930 at Vondelpark for Amsterdam City Tour

We will tour the city using cycle tracks and skateable roads, passing through several parks and taking the roll-on ferry to north Amsterdam, the newest (and quirkiest part of town) for some beautifully manicured downhill slopes practice.

You’ll learn some fascinating facts about the city from our experienced local skating tour guide Lex.

We’ll end the tour back at Vondelpark at the skater’s cafe for drinks and snacks.

Ability Level Requirements

This trip is NOT appropriate for beginner skaters and all participants must be able to skate and stop confidently (using at least the heel brake). If you do not use a heel brake then you must be able to control your speed and stop on downhill slopes using any other stopping methods. The ability level of participants on the trip needs to be closely matched so that the chosen terrain and average speeds can be appropriate for everyone and allow for greater learning.
Please do NOT make any travel or accommodation arrangements until you have been officially accepted onto the trip (by email).
