Trip Itinerary
Friday Night Street Skate 20 Sept 2024
Meet at 2200 for 2215 departure
We begin the weekend by joining the local skaters on their Friday Night Skate (but I’ve
asked them to include some of the city’s best sites on our route).
Saturday 21 September
Meet at 0900 for 0930 departure
We begin Saturday’s skate with a visit to the central market to buy delicious snacks for our breaks. We stop during the day for lesson time focussing on your stopping methods, turns and street skills.
We continue our skate through the old city, using some very convenient progressive steps for your confidence & curbs practice.
We’ll skate at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (and feel like we’re superheroes from the future)….
We then skate to the beach where we’ll look at your skating stride and fix any issues there. We follow the ocean and end enjoying a late lunch of traditional and delicious paella. This will be the official group meal, leaving Saturday evening free to enjoy the city by night.
Some choose to skate back in the late afternoon, while others return by bus or Uber.
Bring your swimming things as some beach time after lunch is possible – but no way compulsory.
Sunday 22 September
Meet at 0945 for 1000 departure
Sunday’s route begins with a historical tour of the old centre of Valencia including a lap of the cathedral.
We’ll continue to the Port area and have some more dedicated lesson time on beautifully smooth skater only open areas.
We’ll tour the port which is all very skateable (and slideable for Powerslides). We stop for a quick lunch at the local skaters’ bar (but other options are available nearby).
We’ll finish the day’s skating by latest 1600 at a port-side location for refreshments

Ability Level Requirements
This trip is NOT appropriate for beginner skaters and all participants must be able to skate and stop confidently (using at least the heel brake). If you do not use a heel brake then you must be able to control your speed and stop on downhill slopes using any other stopping methods. The ability level of participants on the trip needs to be closely matched so that the chosen terrain and average speeds can be appropriate for everyone and allow for greater learning.
Please do NOT make any travel or accommodation arrangements until you have been officially accepted onto the trip (by email).
