Avoid injury and embarrassment by learning to skate with a professional instructor.
Have you taught yourself to skate (on inline or roller skates) but you can’t stop and you don’t feel secure on slopes or in emergency situations?
Have you done our Beginner class and are ready for more progress?
What Will You Learn?
- Consolidate the basics
You can already move about on wheels but we’ll revise the basic stride and make sure your Heel Brake Stop (inliners) or Toe Stop (quads) works properly. - Improve your stride technique so you gain fitness from your skates.
- Stopping techniques (that actually work!)
- One legged gliding techniques to improve your agility and balance.
- Acceleration and faster skating.
- Parallel turn in both directions.
If you are self-taught and need some structure, this class will inform your practice in a way that ensures continued progress.
The Improver ability range is quite large as it includes everyone who isn't a complete beginner but hasn't yet reached intermediate level yet.
We recommend taking this class several times and continue to improve your skills until you are ready to progress to Intermediate classes.
The minimum age for these classes is 14yrs. If you require skate lessons for children below this age, please enquire about private lessons.
PLEASE NOTE:
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN SKATES, WRIST GUARDS AND KNEE PADS AS THESE ARE NOT SUPPLIED BY SKATEFRESH
