Buenos Aires14 - 18 February 2021
Join Asha for 5 days in South America for skating, touring, lesson time and sightseeing in this stunning city with its amazing skate scene
Asha got to know Buenos Aires when she worked for Disney training the child actors in the Spanish children’s TV program “Soy Luna”. She fell in love with the wide boulevards and tree lined streets which are all flat and in the main, very skateable.
The city has a thriving skate scene with a different street skate almost every night of the week. There’s no better way to see the sights than from your wheels. We’ll take in several city routes as well as night skates with the locals and a longer day trip to Tigres, a nearby town with a great market to explore.
Like all Skatefresh Trips, lesson time is built into each day’s touring and we’ll have use of a beautiful outdoor rink for some of our class time. We’ll explore the Rosedal Park and Puerto Madero areas as well as the ‘obelisque’, opera house and other important sights.
Buenos Aires is Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its centre is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Situated on the River Plate, there is a water based culture and a port area, along with numerous parks and public spaces. Residents of this city love good food and Buenos Aires has more than it’s fair share of high quality restaurants.
In addition to the superb skating, there will also be some optional off-skates excursions (walking tour, some tango and an official group meal) which will be announced closer to the time. You’ll also have time to explore additional areas if you want to.

Ability Level Requirements
This trip is NOT appropriate for beginner skaters and all participants must be able to skate and stop confidently (using at least the heel brake). If you do not use a heel brake then you must be able to control your speed and stop on downhill slopes using any other stopping methods. The ability level of participants on the trip needs to be closely matched so that the chosen terrain and average speeds can be appropriate for everyone and allow for greater learning.
Please do NOT make any travel or accommodation arrangements until you have been officially accepted onto the Trip (by email).
Meeting Point for all skates;
Gral. Francisco Ramirez Park (on the side of the US Emassy on Av. Sarmiento)
Travel and Accommodation
Please plan your travel to ensure you arrive in Buenos Aires by February 13th so that you don’t miss any of the 5 days skating.
Skaters are recommended to choose accommodation close to the meeting point to reduce your travel times and maximise your sleep/recovery time!
Once you have been accepted onto the trip you should book your travel and accommodation. The Meeting Point is in the Palermo neighbourhood and there are lots of accommodation options available there.
Asha will be staying here – its an Apart Hotel with nice rooms and reasonably priced. There is a gym and pool on the roof: https://abnb.me/PQ5pRAigQ2
